Another Currency Exchange option

Some feedback and a tip from a reader...thanks S!

Quote: Just wanted to send you a quick update on our house search in Las Vegas...we have entered into the due diligence period of the deal, and are actively working on sorting out a lot of paperwork. Your blog post on FIRPTA was especially useful!

I just wanted to drop you a tip regarding currency exchange. I have had excellent success with Vancouver Bullion and Currency Exchange, based out of Vancouver. Their rates are more competitive than any big bank or even any online conversion service. Their charge for U.S. $ wire transfers is a flat $25, and best of all, they give you a Private Client account that you can deposit into using your bank's 'Bill Pay' service for free. Once the money is received in a day, the conversion occurs the next AM and the wire can be in escrow by the following day.

I have no association with the VBCE, just thought I'd share this viable alternative.

S advised that in his particular circumstance, the quote received was 0.3% lower than another exchange firm; and about 1% less than a bank quote.
